Mr. Turner, Lead instructor & Owner of
TSX Martial Arts Bradford"
My Taekwondo journey began when I decided to enrol my children in the martial art. As a father of five wonderful children and having been with my wife Justine (Mrs. Turner) for over 20 years, I saw Taekwondo as a great way for them to learn discipline, gain self-confidence, and stay physically active. Little did I know that this decision would lead to a transformative experience for me as well.
As I watched my children attend Taekwondo classes and witnessed the positive changes in their demeanor and outlook, I felt increasingly drawn to the practice myself. The dojang quickly became a second home for our family, a place where we not only developed martial arts skills but also learned valuable life lessons.

Over time, my passion for Taekwondo grew, and I made the decision to become an instructor. The path was challenging, requiring rigorous training—not just in physical techniques, but also in teaching methods and the philosophy behind Taekwondo. Transitioning from a parent cheering from the sidelines to an instructor leading classes was both exciting and demanding.
Myself and my wife, Justine (Mrs. Turner), now run TSX Martial Arts Bradford together, and our club is growing from strength to strength. We are passionate about teaching not just martial arts but valuable life skills to all who would like to learn. As instructors, our goal is to instil in our students the same sense of discipline, respect, and perseverance that Taekwondo instilled in us and our children. It's incredibly rewarding to see students of all ages and backgrounds grow in confidence and ability. Whether it’s mastering a new technique or earning their next belt, watching them set and achieve goals has been one of the most fulfilling aspects of our journey.
In addition to our roles as instructors, I am now proud to be a 2nd-degree black belt on the journey to achieving my 3rd dan. This personal progression is a constant reminder of the importance of perseverance, dedication, and the continuous pursuit of excellence, both as a martial artist and as an educator.

Continuous learning has been vital to my growth as an instructor. I've attended seminars, collaborated with fellow instructors, and stayed updated on the latest Taekwondo developments. It's crucial to stay ahead in such a dynamic martial art, and we are committed to providing the best possible instruction to our students.

Every day, we strive to create a positive and inclusive training environment where students are motivated to learn and grow. Taekwondo has become more than just a martial art for our family; it has become a way of life. It's a journey that has taught us discipline, patience, and the importance of leading by example.

Looking back, from a parent supporting my children to an instructor guiding others, I’m deeply grateful for the profound impact Taekwondo has had on our lives. It’s a journey that continues to evolve, and we are excited to see where it takes us and our students in the future. Taekwondo is not just a part of our lives; it’s become part of who we are.
